What is side stream filtration — and why do closed loops need it?
Side stream filtration continuously draws a small percentage (typically 5–10%) of the total flow from a closed heating or chilled water circuit, passes it through a high-efficiency magnetic and depth filter, and returns polished water to the system. Because a side stream filtration unit runs 24/7, it removes magnetite, corrosion debris and installation sludge faster than they can accumulate — protecting boilers, plate heat exchangers, pumps and control valves for the life of the plant.
Every UKGP side stream filtration skid is specified and supplied in the UK to BSRIA BG 29/2020 and CIBSE guidance for closed-loop water treatment. Standard packages cover flow rates from 1 m³/h up to 50 m³/h, with carbon-steel housings, SS304 screens, automated backwash and integrated differential-pressure control — so the operator sees a "fit-and-forget" plant-room asset rather than a maintenance burden.
Whether you run a district heating network, a data centre chilled water loop, a commercial LTHW system or a process cooling circuit, adding side stream filtration is the single highest-impact upgrade for water quality, energy efficiency and asset life. It is the flagship product in the UKGP Industrial range and the fastest route to measurable, visible improvements in system health.

+Q. Do you hold stock of rubber bellows?
Yes — we hold a large range of single and twin sphere rubber expansion bellows in DN32–DN300 ready for same-day despatch from our UK warehouse.
+Q. How do you identify flanges?
Flanges are identified by standard (EN 1092, ANSI B16.5, BS10), pressure rating (PN6/10/16/25/40), size (DN), facing (RF/FF) and drilling. Send us a photo and the PCD and we can confirm.
+Q. How do you install a rubber bellows or a metal bellows?
Both must be installed between fixed anchor points, fully aligned, and never pre-stretched or compressed. Tie rods on rubber units stay fitted during install and are removed only once the line is anchored.
+Q. What lengths of rubber bellows do you offer?
Standard EN 14917 face-to-face lengths from 95mm (DN32) through to 300mm+ on larger units. Custom lengths and twin-sphere extended units available on request.
+Q. Can you match another brand / manufacturer of expansion joint or bellows?
Yes — we regularly cross-reference and supply equivalents to Senior Flexonics, Witzenmann, Belman, Teadit, Stenflex, Procco and others. Send the part number or a photograph.
+Q. What do I need to know to identify an existing expansion joint or bellows?
Manufacturer plate, overall length, end-to-end dimension, flange standard, number of convolutions and any movement values. A photograph against a tape measure is usually enough for us to specify a replacement.
+Q. Do you have rubber bellows for drinking / potable water or with WRAS approval?
Yes — WRAS-approved EPDM rubber bellows are available for potable water duties. Please specify when ordering so the correct elastomer is supplied.
